Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1. Scope and Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines the acceptable use of Shift2Server infrastructure, bare-metal servers, VPS instances, cloud platforms, network uplinks, and managed services. All customers and end-users must comply with this policy.

2. Prohibited Activities

• Malicious Network Attacks: Initiating, relaying, or participating in Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning, network packet spoofing, or unauthorized penetration testing.
• SPAM & Unsolicited Bulk Email: Sending unsolicited commercial email (UCE/SPAM), maintaining open mail relays, or utilizing false header information.
• Illegal & Harmful Content: Storing, transmitting, or distributing malware, ransomware, botnet command controllers, or content prohibited under the Indian Information Technology Act 2000.
• Cryptocurrency Mining: Unauthorized CPU/GPU mining on virtualized shared infrastructure without explicit enterprise agreement.

3. Enforcement & Remediation

Shift2Server reserves the right to suspend or isolate any instance identified as actively compromised, emitting malicious traffic, or violating Indian cyber laws, with immediate notification provided to the registered account contact.
